660 UNIVERSITY AVENUE, TORONTO, ON
Square Footage: 7,847
In 2016, Govan Brown was retained by PayPal to complete a new tenant fit-out of their first Canadian offices on the 5th floor of the coveted MaRS Building in downtown Toronto. The new space, which occupies 7,847 square feet and half the floor, is of an open concept nature that encourages collaboration and creativity. Myriad conference rooms, board rooms, and desk sharing stations adorn the office to reinforce the galvanized vibe of the office. Aesthetically the theme is spurred by custom street art that decorates the space, as well as a wealth of advanced AV features positioning PayPal as an organization on the forefront of technology. The staff is serviced by a locker section as well as a kitchen and a large break room with half a dozen tables. The equipment for the office is supported by an Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) located adjacent to the break room. Our team managed to complete this impressive project in a span of just 8 weeks, an accelerated schedule by any standard. We managed to meet the schedule by identifying crucial long lead items such as HVAC components and specialized finishes.
